Think about it.......

Won them over........

Ok time to fight the nightmares.

I decided I wasn’t going to let any more nightmares ruin my sleep anymore. Besides in the morning it all sounded so silly, (I could remember most of them!).

So............ last night this is what I did, I read a book that made no reference to violence of any kind, sent up a silent prayer, and dropped of to sleep. At night I actually realized that my dream was moving on to a nightmare (the familiar increase in heart beat, the sense of fear and intrigue), I consciously woke myself up, put on the lights, walked around the room a bit, looked out of the window, drank some water and then I would have read too but I was getting sleepy so I went off to sleep and I actually slept peacefully for the rest of the night. It was a good experience.

I have been reading this periodical called “The Little Magazine”. It’s a collection of notes, essays, stories, poems and other such writings by various authors, a composite of literature from various people mostly Indian writers. I read this short fiction by Debraj Bhattacharya who writes of a clerk who keeps seeing ghosts. What I found intriguing were the lines “Ghosts are lonely and as long as you are willing to talk with them, they are happy. They are a vulnerable lot. They need the living more than the living need them.”
