Think about it.......

And then again.................

Yesterday I got a conditional acceptance letter from a University abroad that I had applied to for an MBA course some time ago. I am elated as its my first such letter, but, whether I would accept it or not is still dicey. I have my heart set out to do a PhD in the near future and there are a lot of other factors still to be considered.

So as usual I lay down to sleep at night and I had one of my fancy dreams………. I dreamt I had received a letter from a University for some course (what else!!) and offered me a full scholarship but, they wanted me to join within 2 days. So hurriedly I get all my documents ready and next I am in a plane that is taking off to the wide sky. I am happy and yet slightly uneasy which I believe to be because of first flying experience.

Soon my feelings ease and I am beginning to relax. I look out of the window and see the wide blue calm ocean below. I am getting sleepy and I almost doze off, when suddenly the plane stalls in mid-air. The pilot bursts out of the cockpit and announces that the plane will go no further and all passengers have to get down right there. We all are shocked and one of the passengers musters up the courage to say that there is no airport nearby. The pilot then hands each a parachute and asks us to jump off.

As I jump off the plane I can see ships floating beneath waiting to catch the passengers floating down. I land on a small blue colored pretty ship of the name Sea Breeze. After some time the ship captain comes and asks us where we are heading. I have a few fellow passengers are all headed to UK and that’s what we say. The captain looks first astonished and then dismayed, he calmly informs us the ship is headed for Romania a country that supposedly borders UK (no my Geography is no good!). All the other ships are now too far away to reach so we settle for Romania.

The ship soon reaches the Romania shore and we get off the ship. As we walk into the main land we are greeted by a strange sight. There is a war raging and there are huns and barbarians, orcs and ogres and yes even dragons too fighting with swords, a medieval scene. We are too shocked and not wanting to be spotted we creep around them to a nearby bush, where we spot a kind man who gives us a horse to ride to UK.

Next I am riding all alone and I cross the borders in to UK and soon reach a small village. It is a quaint little village with fields and small homesteads and then I spot that all the women and men are dressed in the traditional Victorian era garbs long flowing skirts, tights…… They are all busy, some carrying hay, some walking their animals, some milking cows. As I walk through the village amazed looking at people all around I spot a gate with a vaguely familiar symbol and suddenly I remember that it is the symbol on the letter I had received. I walk in and come up to a beautiful majestic building that seems to be hazy and yet sparkle in the brilliant clear sun. As I come closer I am shocked to see that the whole structure is made of wax. Suddenly a man appears from nowhere and he welcomes me, shows me my room and informs that classes start the next day.

Next, Its morning and I am running to my classes. I enter the classroom and I am stunned. All the seats are occupied by wax figurines except one. I slowly walk upto the empty seat and sit when the professor walks in. I ask the professor where the rest of the students are and he says that they are all sitting next to me. I tell the prof that they are all wax figurines and the prof replies that they are all students who have converted themselves to wax and I would be doing the same too. Shocked, I once again open the letter I had received and read it and then it becomes clear that the scholarship is for a course on wax figurines. I tell the prof that I have other plans and that I don’t want to continue. The prof squints his eyes and peers at me, then he walks up to the door, closes it and announces that nobody is leaving until they learn to convert themselves. I am too shocked and I keep on repeating that I want to be a PhD and not a wax figure again and again. And that’s when I woke up.
