Its been quite long since I last blogged, been too busy studying and getting some major documents in order (I hate the bureaucracy!!!). Today after many many days I took a restful break.
Its Diwali, the beautiful festival of lights………the glowing diyas, radiant lanterns, sparkling lights all look so pretty. I love to take a stroll in the evenings through the neighbourhood during Diwali. The houses look so stunning and colourful with the lights and the lovely rangolis in the courtyard.
Today I went up to the terrace with my family and some neighbours to watch the fireworks, specially the rockets that throw colorful lights in the sky (I am not particularly fond of those loud crackers that make every effort to render you hearing handicapped!!).
……………………It was such an exhilarating experience. We stood there at the centre of the terrace looking up at the dark night sky. All around us every few seconds the sky would suddenly burst into glowing colours of red, green and blue, sometimes the colours would bounce out into more colours before vanishing as quickly as it came, at other times the sky would be shimmering with golden colour. Every burst of colour would make us collectively go ooh and aah. We could feel the colours burst in our own hearts, we could feel the joy within us. For half an hour we all stood there silently watching the colourful display. Then some of us realized our necks were beginning to ache from all the looking up. We lingered around for another half an hour talking and watching, before returning back home. It was refreshing.
